- I am a 59 year old woman. I have had alopecia for nearly 8 years - no body hair but patches of hair on my head - no eyebrows, eyelashes. Don't know what else I can say - not working, though I need to get back into the workforce. Had a rough trot with cancer/chemo in 2000, lost my mum at that time and started caring for my dad (stroke/brain damage/diabetes) with the help of my husband and my then 10-year-old son (23 now). Dad died in 2005 which is about when my hair starting falling out. (Also financial issues with my husband losing his job around that time.) Currently trying to reinvent myself in the fitness industry (exercise of one kind or another has always been my sanity saver). But the hair issue, along with everything else, has taken a toll on my confidence and finding it hard to get back out there.
