Hi just found this site just what i need. have been lossing my hair for few yrs now and have been able to manage it but for last few month its got worst, Had my haircut last wk and it seems to have made my patch stand out more, im lossing my hair from the part and at the back of my head, i am going through Menapause as well so that is not helping it could be my problem i have had all blood test and nothing. for the last month i have been massaging Coconut Oil through my scalp whether that helps to early to say.. I have got to the stage where i just dont want to go out anymore it really gets me down, I am 52yrs old and have a great partner and he says he dosen't notice it typical.

Hi oakleygirl, Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your hair loss but great that you have a supportive partner. Have you got a family history of AGA? If not then it might be worth looking into things further. Not sure what tests you have had but I've had tests for my thyroid levels, testosterone, estrogen, iron, zinc, cortisol... Unfortunately my condition is hereditary. I've had very thin hair since I was 18. Hope things improve for you soon. I'm also in Victoria and unfortunately I haven't been able to find any local support groups. Are you interested in attending a support group with other women with AGA? Take care. LiAnn
