"This kid rocks it.   It's not easy to feel like that.  And no one can do it all the time. But if we can all hold each other up, support one another and keep reminding ourselves lack of hair will not harm us, then  we should…"

"I haven't checked Alopecia World in a long time.  It has been 40 years with AA, and 14 with AU.  You can read my blogs if you want but our feelings about AU are pretty similar.  My son was 7 and he watched me shave 14 years ago,…"

Has it really been 12 years?

Yup.It has been over 12 years.  Over 20% of my life has been spent with AU.Mostly I don't think about it, easier to do if a guy.My oldest child doesn't really remember me with hair (she was 2 when she helped me shave it off with the clippers.....).  And both kids say they prefer me bald and wouldn't want me to grow my hair back if I could. :-)I still fantasize about re-growing hair every now and then, but not that often.I pay attention to the research but am just not going to roll the dice with…See More

I had always grown a winter beard when I lived in New England, but that was going to be a thing of the past. No problem, I thought. I can live without facial hair. Several years went by and I started noticing dime to quarter size bald spots showing up on my head. They'd show up and go away. No big deal. Now in my late 30's, I had alway had very, very thick and full head of…

Hi how are you holding up?
All is pretty good here.
I've been dealing with my alopecia for almost 5 years now.
Like yours it went rather quickly. It was totally crazy. I think I was totally crazy too.
I've spent a lot of time here and it has been really helpful.
