My bf has alopecia, he is very concerned (I am not, but I am an RN and I try to help him in his search for help). Also as an RN I am intrigued by old medical cures vs. newer/expensive/RX-only medications, for example the way that countries with socialized medicine like the UK often use the cheapest, most effective (often non-patented) treatments for illness (because they have to, in order to keep costs down) -- vs. corporate medicine like the US' which usually uses the most expensive, patented treatments/medications (promoted most heavily by pharmaceutical sales reps). I believe in old fashioned remedies, at least those that have been empirically demonstrated to work (e.g. epsom salts).
