Hi Mygirl.

I will be super straight with you. I am sorry to say this but doctors are right! There is no magic cream no magical pill you can take and cure this disease. I have tried bunch of different creams and they didn't help at all with my hair grow. In fact they probably made some damage to my skin.

There are some things you can potentially try. I will send you a private message about that but they are not a cure, just my interpertation. Other then that I would recommend to check out this website. It's in beginning stages but there should be a lot of interviews of different people in similar situation and how they have dealed with it.

Hi Mygirl,

I am 46 years old.  When I was about 5, I started losing my hair.  I ended up losing it all, including eyebrows and eyelashes.  My mom took me to doctors and specialists and none of them knew the cause.  They thought it was due to stress.  I went from kindergarten through fourth grade with no hair and wore a wig.  That summer all of a sudden my hair just started growing back.  When I returned to fifth grade I didn't need a wig.  It was good until I was around 19, when it started coming out again.  I lost over 50%.  I was referred to a dermatologist and luckily throughout the years there was new information about hair loss.  They diagnosed me with alopecia.  They did tell me there is no cure, and unfortunately there still isn't today, but they were able to give me a form of steroid inections.  I believe the doctor called it Kenolog.  They give you shots in your head where the hair loss or patches are.  It is supposed to help stop the hair loss and help with regrowth.  It took awhile, but it eventually did help.  I think it took about a year, maybe less before I started regrowing my hair.  But it did grow in nicely.  I never used any creams, just the shots.  Thankfully, I haven't had an issue since.  My hair has never been really full like normal people's hair is without alopecia, and my hairline is high, but I do have hair now.  I hope this helps you and your daughter.  Good luck.  Feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to talk.

Xeljanz (Tofacitinib) is a medication that a lot of people have been using over the last years and has helped to grow hair.

Tofacitinib is part of a general family of JAK inhibitors which target to stop signal of the immune system related to making hair fall (that is very high level description of it)

There is a lot of research going on right now by many pharmaceuticals and universities to introduce new better medication.

People have been buying Tofacitinib from various markets around the world
