As much as writing is a healing process for me, and as much as writing makes me feel better, I find myself becoming victim more and more to that dreaded curse of the writer -- writer's block!!! Perhaps it is because I have so many thoughts running in my head that I hardly know where to start writing them down. I know sometimes I have a story laid out in my head, but by the time I can get to pen and paper or a keyboard to start writing it, I've forgotten what it was that captured my attention, or something else has caught my attention totally and then by the time I get back to the original thought, I don't like how it completed itself and I have to start over.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get around writer's block???

Force-feed the canvas on which you've elected to write. Write in season and out of season - when you want to and especially when you do not want to. Set a writing schedule and do not deviate from it. If your brain is scrambled, then ramble. Make progress in the now because you can always make sense later. Simply go 'write' through that block!
