Bald Girls Do Dinner In San Francisco

Hey Everyone!

I just got back from a wonderful dinner and met 5 amazing, beautiful, bold, bald women. It was a great opportunity to meet Thea Chassin, founder of baldgirlsdolunch.org and listen to these other women's stories and be able to relate to them, and not feel like I'm alone dealing with AT.

All 5 had AU, one wasn't ready to go "Au Natural" in public but the other 3 in our group were, and quite okay in their skin. It made me hope that someday I can be that comfortable in my own skin and not be a slave to my wig, scarf or what society deems beautiful.

The one thing we discussed that sort of upset me was the topic of research and raising awareness. It was upseting to find out some organizations that raise money for research only want "poster children", it seems thay bring in more money than an adult woman would. But other than that it was a wonderful evening.

Hi Lori,

I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner with the girls.
We have a great SF AA support group from you just up the road if you would like to join us.
