It’s Friday…who’s up for the happy dance? My day starting off on the right foot around 3 AM. Bounced out of the rack for whatever reason despite the early hour, ready to take on the world and it just keeps getting better.

Business casual at work which means comfortable jeans. I usually reach for a pair of generously cut jeans to accommodate the extra weight I put on over the last year. This morning, I mistakenly grabbed a pair from a time when I was in better shape. As Gomer Pyle used to say, “surprise, surprise!”. They fit, I’m mean really fit without having to the ‘oh, I can button these if I jump up and down or inhale until my belly button touches my spine” dance. Woo Hoo!!!

Half day today too as a reward for some extra hours put in during the past few weeks. A couple of errands to run including an appointment to get my jeep inspected. Fingers crossed…I did a once over last night. Everything looks in good shape so there should be any major surprises (aka big dollar repairs).

Once that’s done it will be time for the weekend. Weather wise, it looks to be decent with temps in the 80F range, overcast but no rain for a change. The Travis Tritt song “It’s a great day to be alive” is playing over and over in my mind:

“Feelin' pretty good and that's the truth
It's neither drink nor drug induced
No Im just doin' alright”

Gotta love these kind of days. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Hey Tony, I tried the "Happy Dance" and ended up stumbling around like I was drunk, lol, I have limited dance skills. I think I'll stick to the "two step", lol. I googled the lyrics to the song you mentioned, the lyrics are "deep", I felt it. I don't like country music, but I love to read lyrics to different genres of music, you can tell where the artist is going when you actually listen to or read the lyrics. Thanks for the "Happy Friday" preview!

Hi Tony - I have read a few of your blogs and you have such a way with words. I tend to vent when I write and it reads angry and depressed. Yours has an eloquent sadness yet is read with a light heart. Just wanted to let you know that what you have written gives me another perspective on how I can view things if I just look at it a bit differently. You do not look like Charlie Brown! lol. Thanks for sharing.

Linda, LOL because I have two left feet with all thumbs for toes when it comes to dancing so I know what you are saying. Doesn't matter. I abide by the old saying...to dance like no one is watching. Lisa, thank you for the compliment...glad you enjoy my ramblings. Oh, I vent too. It's hard not to but I always try to take a step back and see the positive side even if the 'only' good thing is there are so many bigger problems in life.
