My wife has poly myalgia it seems if you have alopecia then your body's immune system works overtime attacking itself, it does not stop at hair it attacks everywhere it can. Not sure if you got anther immune thing but worth checking out out reckon.

yep could be another auto immune disease... I also have the pain in my shoulders neck and hips. Get ur doctor to check it out there are some meds you can take but no easy fix unfortunately. Out of the two I'd rather have alopecia than a painful disease.

Oh Yea! I have what is called non speciific connective tissue disease. It sadly effects all my joints, my knees, hips, elbows, neck & lower back are the more painful. My Rheumatologist has told me it to is auto immune linked. I just wish it were not so painful. I agree 100% with Pat, I'll take Alopecia any day over chronic pain, it totaly sucks. I have some really bad days & some really good days, those good days I tresure. I wish you much luck & hope you are not in pain that really stinks big time.

yeh I have polymyalgia rheumatica...prednisone is the usual answer which helps enormously but has some serious side-effects the longer you stay on it. After nearly 2 years I have weaned myself off it. The pain is still there though not as it was before I got diagnosed...then I could hardly move with the stiffness and pain. I keep hoping I will be able to stay off the prednisone. There's a group on AW for other auto-immune diseases, there's a few of us there.

GO GET TESTED FOR LYME DISEASE!! Read about the many symptoms of Lyme disease whether or not you're aware of being bitten by a tick... I just got diagnosed with it and related to all but a few symptoms... it's nuts. Sorry you're going through this.
