All of a sudden it just seems like I've got so much on the go with alopecia! My next support group meeting is in June and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again as we celebrate our one year anniversary!!
Thanks to Mary, I suppose?, I will be doing something for National Bald Out Day in my Canadian community but I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. I'm thinking along the lines of a head shaving or people can sign their names on an alopecian's head with henna and that way we'll still have everyone's show of support with us when we go to camp starting on July 31st. I may even be able to get donations for the camp as well that way to ensure that we have the most fun we can possibly have.
I'm so excited about this camp and I hope that alopecians and their families across Canada can come and enjoy the long weekend in Guelph. Unlike a typical conference, there will be no workshops or sessions to sign up for, the whole aim of the camp is to have fun with others like yourself and make connections. The only thing to "sign up" for is the baseball game, the talent show and head/face painting. In support of Bald Out Day I encourage those with alopecia to come as themselves, besides it's kind of hard to get your head painted when you're covering it up! The only thing your head should be covered in this weekend is a hat or sunscreen so you don't get a sunburn.

It may not sound like alot but there is a whole lot of planning and prep. work that goes on behind these events so in actuality I have tons to do but because it's for a cause that I care deeply about, it is fun and I don't mind doing it. Anyways, it's gonna be fun and if you can make it to camp, I can't wait to meet you! :)

Girl you gotta start something!!!! In Ontario there are groups in Guelph, Grimsby and Toronto and there are a couple of groups in Quebec too I believe. I've had people from the area email me and ask if there's anything going on there so I would love to refer them to you. I can tell you all about how I got started if you want, just let me know and I will happily fill you in.

Way to go, Carol!!! I just looked at the Palopecia website, and it's really nice.

I remember seeing your video "Alopecia Song" last year when I was pretty down about losing my hair, and it really cheered me up. I didn't realize that was you!
