An UP for people feeling DOWN on here!

so as i scroll through the blogs i notice some of us are still having trouble coping with what we have, u people do not need to be ashamed and let it effect your life, maybe in a cancer situation but we are not dying from this, yes it could be worst but it is not, i know it is traumatic for some of us but as humans we learn to adapt to things, we may feel uncomfortable sometimes but it will not be forever, for u married alopecians i can tell u that the man/woman fell in love with u for u and no matter what he/she will love u no matter what u look like, always remember the vow "in sickness and in health", you should always fight the good fight and keep looking forward cause if ya look back you might just miss something awesome, as i have said in a past blog, do what u love to do, and try to stay positive, yeah i know that may be hard for some of us but it's not the end of world, well i hate to cut this one short but i hope all of u stay positive, and if ur chasing a dream keep chasing it till ya catch it.

Thank you for the reminder. Sometimes we get so caught up in our heads that we forget the simple things like enjoying our lives. We are not gravely ill, we just happened to be without hair. I sometimes refer to myself as a hairless cat, an unique breed of feline. (just without all the wrinkles) LOL

Well, my husband of 15 years COULDN'T handle the AA/AU/AT, "ordered" me to grow hair (!), made rude comments about the alopecia, and ran off with the younger, wilder, long-haired secretary. His accusatory words, "You would have stayed in this until death, wouldn't you?" defied the vows...I almost laughed out loud when he said it. So...fairytales change. I became a workaholic and advice-giver, instead, to find fulfillment.

Good words Paul.
Having alopecia does get easier with time and support. Unfortunatly, some of us don't get the support we need as TG stated.
I have a saying...I call it MAP...MAP = Men Are Pigs!

Are you including yourself, then, Jeffrey? I don't think I would go THAT far! Let's just say some people don't realize what "in sickness and in health" means, and that could apply to either sex.

Nope I'm not included in the not getting support! I am on the other end entirely. I have been supported 24/7 365!
I feel very grateful for that. Also I am a big supporter too. What comes around goes around....
