Anyone have burning sensation prior to AA noticement? Histiocytosis sufferers?

One night I remember waking up with a burning, like a lit cigar held to my head, a few days prior to noticing my first spot, at age 29! Has this happened to anyone else? Maternal grandmother lost all her hair at 14, in the late 1930's. Figured heredity. Since then, I have been diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. Alopecia can occur from LCH of the scalp, however I was never tested. Wondering if it could have been heredity, LCH, or maybe a centipede bite! Remember waking up with a burning scalp. Hawaii does have centipedes that can cause reactions, burning in particular, and are actually feared. Wish I would have been tested for LCH when I got my first spot! Now have a bite on my leg, growing with a dark purple center, over the last couple days. Is it an LCH outbreak? Woke up with a stinging bite, but so asleep I didn't check to see. I am a heavy sleeper, when I do!

Hey Jeweli, yes I had the same experience. One night I layed down to go to sleep one night and i had taken my hair out of a pony tail just before I layed down and my scalp was burning and itching real bad in one spot. I was scratching it for a while, wondering what was wrong since I couldn't see the back of my head. I pulled my hand away, thinking to myself "what the hell is wrong with my head?" when I looked at my hand and I had a hand full of hair. Of course I freaked out wondering what could be wrong with me. But, it was the middle of the night and I couldn't call anyone to talk and I was home alone. So I just had to suck it up and go to sleep. That was fun! lol.

I only have the burning/itching on my face. on my head, guess it's been there, but not as noticeable.
Sounds like you got a bug bite for sure on your leg. Better get it checked either way.
