Hi Everyone, I started ayurvetic herbal oil treatments last week. I ordered my oils from an Ayurvetic Naturopath in India - Dr. Rohit Shah of the Alopecia Treatment Center. I'm not likely to see results for
4-6 months, if it's going to work at all. If I start seeing results, I'll show everyone my 'before and after' pictures. This is my last treatment option; I've decided against DCP. If this doesn't work, I'm going to allow myself to go gently and happily bald. The happy part will likely take some work!

Hi Laky, I assume you saw my response earlier on Halina's post? Here's an excerpt from it just in case you didn't catch it and so others can see it to. I've also tried to answer your specific question below.

"About 1 month after starting treatments I noticed that my shedding slowed down considerably. About 2 months after that it pretty much stopped altogether. That was a huge relief because at the rate I was losing my hair I was sure to be completely bald in months. After another couple of months I started growing a nice little crop of little white hairs on most of my bald spots. Today, after 7 month of treatment, the little white hairs are quite dense in most areas and some of them have turned into grown-up hairs but are still white. Also, some of my smaller bald patches have started to fill in with regular hair. I haven't developed any new bald spots in about 5 months. Dr. Shaw was really concerned at first that the treatment wasn't going to work for me because I'd had this condition for so long and a lot of my scalp appeared damaged from all the steroid injections over the years. He is very excited by my results so far since I'm showing real signs of recovery. With this treatment you have to be really patient. It's not a fast cure, but for me it has completely halted my shedding and my hair folicles are most definitely waking up and starting to produce hair again."

To answer your question, I think I starting seeing little baby hairs in my second set of bottles. I'm now on my third and the hairs seem to be growing faster and thicker now. I'm finding that the older the bald spot, the faster the hairs are growing, it's interesting. For instance, I have one bald spot that is about 1 year old and the little hairs are just starting to grow. On the bald spots that are several years old, they are growing pretty thick. Although I'm getting some really positive results I still have a long way to go. The new hairs that are growing are only at about 20% of the density of my regular hair. Dr. Shaw didn't expect me to see any real results for about 12 months so I feel like I'm still on track. Something else that I think is worth mentioning is that 3 months ago I gave up coffee and really cut back on wheat and dairy. I was tested allergic to these things. I was noticing that when I drank coffee, my head would tingle and get itchy. It's been like that for years but I've been ignoring it. Since I changed my diet my husband is convinced that my hair is growing back faster (he is my back-of-the-head inspector) - almost like it was trying to grow but the allergies were stunting it. It's just a theory (that others on this site have also expressed) but I think allergies and diet are also a key component to this condition.
Best of luck Laky with your treatment. Please keep in touch and let me know how you're progressing. I'll also update this blog when I start to see 'real' hairs growing.

I recently noticed that the hair fall has slowled down not completely over but slowed down a bit and myhair look little healthy now , I also use Nioxin shampoo for washing my hair ... I hope I will also start seeing new baby hair soon..How many bottles of oil did you see to see the current results?

Thanks! I've had AA for about 7 years now so if it works for me, I assume it will work for many others. I'll spread the word if I have any luck with it. I'll need to be patient though, 4-6 months is a long time to put slightly smelly oils on my head every other night!
