We'll, I made it through my first day! 90% of my hair had fallen out so I shaved the rest off over the holidays. I went back to work yesterday. I was full of anxiety. I decided to send an email to the people I worked with most often so they wouldn't be shocked or think I had cancer. The response was uplifting and I even ate lunch in the cafeteria with two of my close friends. I never thought I could do it. But I did! Onto day two!
Good for you!!!! I am sorry that you felt you had to 'explain' yourself. It does take a lot of courage to go 'naked'. I go bald for the most part. I do remember going bald for the first time last summer....lots of stares in the grocery store. I barely notice the stares at this point.
Again, good for you:)
Good for you!!! Experiences like yours are very uplifting and I love sharing them with my 13 year old daughter with Alopecia.
Good for you!!!!! I wish I could do that. I am a hairstylist and I work for a big hair and cosmetics company and I feel uncomfortable even talking about my situation. It seems they mostly ignore it. At times I wish I could find another line of work where it would not matter as much!!!!! I have no problem with family and friends though, which is good!!!!!! I am glad for you that you are strong to be able to walk proudly at work!!!!!
I am so happy that your coworkers are so understanding!
Peace and Blessings.
Wow! Good for you. Your courage is uplifting.
Lots of luck to you on day 2 an on!!
