Sometime last spring when I pulled Bradyn's hair up in a pony tail I noticed her hair line did not look right, but I couldnt place what was wrong. Before her dance recital I realized that her hair line basically stopped at the top of her ears, but because her hair was so long you could only tell if she had it pulled up in a pony tail. Finally my mom talked me into taking her to a doctor and we ran all the typical blood test. Of course everything came back within normal limits. We were then refered to Childrens Hospital Dermatological Services near our home. Made an appointment and the Physicans Assisntant, Student, had never seen anything like it. However, the dermatologist knew exactly what it was when I lifted up her hair. She was diagnosed with AA- Ophiasis pattern. She was percribed Olux foam. We were told that we wouldnt see a difference for atleast 3 months, and then it would only be peach fuzz regrwoth. About a month into the treatment she got the stomach flu. As I was holding her head over a bucket I noticed the most beautiful thing.... REGROWTH. She has refgrown a lot of the hair she had lost from the back of her neck. She does have extremely fast growing hair so I think that had a lot to do with the ammount we have seen grow back in this short of time. She does have one spot above her ear that has not started to grow in.

Me on the other hand....

I hate that she has to deal with this, even though shes handeling it quite well. She loves to show people her regrowth. I also feel guilty for feeling so bad for her when the normal person would never be able to tell unless we pull her hair up. I keep thinking Why my child, and then I see pictures of others whos hair loss is so much worse. Oh the joys of being a parent.

Hi Mandy. I am so glad Bradyn's regrowth is coming along so well. Please don't feel guilty for worrying about her hair loss. As parents, we want our children's lives to be as close to perfect as possible and we don't want then to have to suffer. Children can be so cruel to each other and I know you wouldn't want another child to comment if Bradyn's hair looked different in a ponytail. I pray her progress continues. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Hi Mandy,

I am glad that she has had regrowth. Treatments can be hard on kids. Like Bradyn my daughter was diagnosed with AA and her hair grew back really quickly. She has one more spot left but the rest is almost as long as it was before. Just be strong it gets better.

Reading this entire story of Brayden in which how she is suffering from the Alopecia has made me sad. I am praying to God for her fast recovery. I personally hired personal statement writing service for my presentation online. Seeing our children in pain creates a lot of significant problems for us too.
