Hi caitlin,
It was very heartwarming to see u sharing ur story.
My daughter is 4 yrs old and has alopecia for over a year now. Your right in saying that people dont know about alopecia and thats why they ask probing questions. I have taught my daughter to politely explain to them that its just hair fall and she is fine. But if someone persists in making fun of her i have also taught her to stand up for herself and tell them that they are being rude. I"m sure having alopecia will make her a better person who is kind and understanding.
Thank u for sharing your story and being an inspiration for all kids out there.
I truly enjoyed your story. More importantly, you exhibit a tremendous amount of courage. As you said, hair is not what makes you beautiful. I suffer from Alopecia as well. I don't allow it to stop me. I've come to look at as a tool to help others feel better about themselves. I think it is great that you have been a champion to educate others about Alopecia. Yes, you resonate beauty. Thanx for sharing your story...Blessing to ya
ahh you guys thanks for commenting , caitlin isn't a member of this site i really wanted to have a quick look around before suggesting she comes to join but I think it might be a really good ides. She has her down days for sure, people have asked her if she has cancer in the past and thats always difficult for her, I'm sure some of you guys understand. Her hair fall fluctuates between having all her hair and then to the point where she has absolutely none..but yep she's a brave girl and I do believe you're right when you say it makes you a stronger better person in the long run , how can you not be more compassionate when you've experienced you're one struggles. Sending love to you all , Caits mum xxx
A very beautiful girl! I am amazed that she is sincere. Good luck!
Your daughter's beautiful heart shows through...she obviously has her bad times and good times with alopecia, as do all of us who have it. I hope she continues to educate those around her as she moves on through life. It's a difficult thing to be different from others, it takes courage and an ability to be less sensitive, to grow a thicker skin so that if and when she/we do get insensitive comments she/we can rise above it.
Awesome just plain out awesome, I wish I had seen this video when Pat my partner (see the comment above for her comment) i would have understood so much more of what she was going through. You explain what Alopecia is and how it affects lives so succinctly, and you have a gift for expressing the less obvious emotional effects of losing your hair. You got to put this on you tube it is so well done. Will be looking forward to hearing more of your story. Thank you for allowing to get a glimpse of your life with Alopecia.
Caitlin you are amazing!
Your strength is beautiful, keep up your positive attitude and singing :)
what a wonderful clip, so honest. Caitlin is a beautiful young girl, with a wonderful positive attitude and amazing strength.
Wow thank you for sharing your story, it really touched my heart!
