A moment of cheers,as I stood on the square of my hometown to attend the Tuskegee University Homecoming parade watching all the beautiful floats and bands passing through marching to the beat of the music,as I watched at that moment one of the most amazing thing or shall I say person caught my attention a woman, yes what seem to be a proud bald woman with a smile on her face not sure what her position was for the band as she march along side the band from Stone Mountain Ga. as I begin to shout out and cheer to her she turn and with that same smile wave.I wanted her to know she was not alone. As the parade came to a close I was able to find that woman that rock the bald look, as I do today,we talked very brief long enough for us to share our stories. We both had a different story about the baldness but,all in all we are both bald and beautiful women without hair who have made that choice to live as bald women along with many others. I must say it was not easy at first ,but as time went by it gets a lots easy. Everything has a reason and a season. Everything is in God timing.

I recommended her to the most wonderful place there is to feel free and no one mines you being who you really are AW hoping that she will become a part of the family. Thanks for letting me share my story here on AW where everyone care.

We certainly do care! I recall a message from someone about the vices of hiding our identity because others who are suffering are not able to "bond" with us. It's very rewarding to share our stories; I loved reading about your parade/band uplifting day. One of my favorite songs is by Barbara Streisand, "Don't Rain on My Parade." (I'm a great fan of hers as we share the same nose.) Although I can't sing a note, the piano is tuned and the words are impressionable..."I'll march my band out, I'll beat my drum....At least I didn't fake it. But, whether I'm the rose of sheer perfection...I gotta try!" Thanks for your spiritual lift today! Hugs, Susan

Praise God...you're an inspiration..I wished that I could have met the lady rocking the bald look at a church I visited. I am on the choir so when I was able to leave the choir loft, she was gone. There will come another time when I can tell my story. Take care..
