coeliac, underactive thyroid and alopecia

hi i am new to this blog but i was wondering if anyone out there has alopecia areata, coeliac disease and underactive thyroid disease too as well as psorisis of the scalp. It burns and itches, two patches one bigger than the other, tried 2 lots of scalp injections they did not work. i have had this for about 18 months now, is there any hope for me to be normal again.

Hello, I also have alopecia and psoriasis. I am checking on my thyroid now, seems to be low. Luckily, my psoriasis is not on my scalp. I use steroid cream from the dermatologist. It will never go away, but it helps keep it under control.

I'm wondering if you meant Celiac? If so... I am a complete match! I have all three autoimmune disorders! Totally sucks! But interesting if they were all connected somehow... I went to a fancy UCLA immunologist to see what was causing these autoimmune disorders and if they were interconnected somehow... unfortunately she had no answers. But I'd be excited to know if someone else out there has experienced all three too!

hi natalie thank you for replying it is great to hear from you. I have been using cocois oil on my scalp to ease the itching of psorisis and after a while it felt better. I think they are all connected buy i think stress causes alopecia areata as we were flooded the same time as underactive thyroid was diagnosed so I am not sure. I have been coeliac for 9 years and doing ok, underactive thyroid and alopecia for 18 months. I have two lots of scalp injections but no luck as of yet. how are u? Jean

Hey There, I too have AU as well as hypo-thyrodism. It seems like a lot of others have the same issues. When my dermatologist diagnosed me with AU he asked to run some blood work. He then sent me to an endocrinologist. She did not seem shocked at all at the dual conditions. All of this began after I gave birth to my twins 7 years ago. But it progressed to AU two years after the birth of my last child. Has anyone else developed these issues after childbirth???? Heather
