If you have Alopecia has anyone been told it's an Autoimune thing? If so has anyone been able to explain to you what that really means????

Hi Kat,

Alopecia in its various form is an autoimmune disease. This means that your immune system attacks the hair follicles thinking its a foreign body.  There is no cure and the underlying cause is unknown.

Michelle how did your eyebrow tattooing go? Was it painful? What about the healing time? Have an appointment to get it done tomorrow and now I'm getting nervous.

Hi Kat,

It went well!  I had a touch up today.  I don't know if my experience is the same as others.....She did what is called a 'first pass'....to break the skin.  I have a VERY low pain tolerance so this was uncomfortable.  After she put numbing cream then I didn't feel a thing!  I used nothing but vaseline and after a couple of days it will scab and fall off.  Don't touch it.  It takes a few weeks for the actual colour to come out...hence the touch up which is normal from what I hear.  I was very clear on the shape I wanted.  If you have a picture of you with eye brows then bring it.  I was also specific that I wanted 'strokes' which looks much more natural then a straight line.  I have to say that I LOVE waking up in the morning with eye brows.

Got my brows done a couple of weeks ago it's great. Also had eyeliner done today also great. Thanks for the advice !!!!!

Awesome!!  I'm glad that you are happy with the results.  I don't have a high enough pain tolerance to do the eyeliner ;)
