Conquered my fear
I finally "came out" so to speak about my Alopecia today to everyone i know.. this is what i posted in my Facebook notes.. the stress of hiding it and everything seemed to make my depression worse, which in turn i always feel tired. I am hoping now I can get back on track =-) Much Love all!
My boys are so self conscious about things, and I am always telling them not to worry about what other people thing, but then I realized, it is my fault that they are like that because I am always worried about what others think and what they say... and they see it. I cannot be like this for them and just need to stop worrying about it and let things out, or I cannot teach them that it is what is inside that counts. Real friends will not care and like you for you... So.. My name is Amy Evans and I have Alopecia =-). Any questions about it I am happy to answer. I had to finally get this out because it consumes me everyday. the worry what others will think, being scared of the outcome.. but today I say, I have amazing friends and family and that is what matters.

Welcome Out Amy! Life is good on this side of hiding. I honestly believe that almost everybody I encounter takes their cues about my scalp, and the rest of how I look, from me. If I'm acting like my baldness is no big deal and like I'm attractive, they do too. If I'm acting like I have a shameful secret, they do too.

Thank you everyone. my kids are young and i know i was sending the wrong impression to them.. i felt it was time to "lead by example" instead of "do as i say not as i do". also as scared as i was about it, i realized i didnt need to be, because everyone was so supportive. Much love all!
