Cortisone injections are working to treat my nails

Hi - it's been a while since my last post about my nails that were lifting away from the nailbed. I've found something that seems to work - - although I have to say, it's pretty extreme. On two of my most affected nails where the nail had almost completely lifted away from the nail bed, I've received a cortisone injection at the cuticle line. Painful, but it seems to work. Next time, I'll apply some numbing agent the dr. prescribed before my next appointment.

What type of doctor does this procedure for you? My nails are in ok condition....compared to what they use to be. I saw something on tv about putting garlic in nail polish and it's working but curious about the cortizone injections

I see a dermatologist for this treatment.

Never heard of garlic in the nail polish. wow! my nails have always been flakey and have the lines that look like a 90 year old woman's nails. i did buy one of those nail kits that includes a light sander, buffer, shiner. after that i put on OPI Nail Envy nail strengthener. keeps my nails from splitting. and they look pretty good. cannot imagine the shots at the cuticle line. hang tough!
