Hi Stephanie. I want to give you a hug, and though I know it will not take away your pain, it will help you to know you are not alone. A long time ago I was inpatient, and though it was not related to my hair/lack of hair, I do take what I learned in my treatment after my discharge, and apply it to my life as I know it now. I am a firm believer in CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, I truly believe we have the ability to 'rewire' our thinking. I also find that for me, having a creative outlet, such as writing, painting, music ect., is very imortant. I wish I could make it better for you, I know you are hurting...It is fantastic that you reached out, where people can support you and understand your pain. Keep talking, we are listening.
all my best,
Ella

Hi there,

Depression can lead to hair loss because it stresses your mind and body. Maybe you need some counseling to help you overcome it. Or maybe go on a holiday to relax?

Hi Stephanie,

I have to agree being told to "get over it" is not the answer.
I hope you find coping mechanisms that work for you. Friends, Family and exercise help me feel better.

Hugz,
Jeff

Stephanie, I'm sending you a great big hug right now. Let me tell you, I still have times when I just wish things were the way they used to be. I was just diagnosed with scarring alopecia and let me tell you, wearing a wig stinks!

There are times when I'm alone and the tears just slip past my eyelids. But you know what? I don't have to get over it because it's mine. My hurt. I refuse to let it take over my life but how dare anyone tell me I can't cry or feel sad.

I really hope that you will be okay. Iused to think that I was alone but please remember one thing...we hear you.

Hi Stephanie,
You are not alone... I've suffered severe depression.... give you some time, you will find your own coping mechanisms, don't worry! For me too, family and exercise and friend were of great help, not to forget my antidepressants.... Good luck,
Diane
