I was diagnosed with AA in May of 09. I received injections and my hair has partially grown back. I can cover pretty well and don't wear the scarves anymore. My Grandmother had Universalis but not until her 70's. Last night I noticed a bald spot on my 6 year-old son's head. It's only about the size of a dime. I called my dermatologist. Am I over reacting?

If your Grandmother had it and you have it,i wouldn't say you are over reacting. In some cases it never progresses past a bald spot or two and hopefully this will be the case with your son.

There has now found to be a genetic link (see July 2010 and later research), so you are probably right.

You're right I may just be horribleizing and I may have a touch of denial.
