My boyfriend shaved my head for me and it feels GREAT! I'm not sure if I'll ever leave the house bald but I'm loving how I no longer have to worry about my falling hair. Besides, I didn't have that much left either so what's the point of holding on? I am still pursuing treatment but I don't think it matters to me at this point. If it grows, and treatment works, then that's great. If not, oh wells!

Congratulations Clara! I am so envoius of those of you that have the courage to take matters into your own hands and just shave it off. I think I am getting to that point...I found more spots this morning and an beginning to really see how many I have. Maybe this weekend I'll take the plunge and just do it!

Good for you, Clara! I didn't shave mine but I had it all cut off VERY short and it was such a relief to no longer see all the hairs in the shower. So much less heart wrenching and frankly looked better.

Congratulations! Doesn't it feel great? I remember feeling like I had control of my life again, and I stopped worrying about the bald spots getting bigger, or the hair on the floor. Good for you!

When I started to look like Ben Franklin, that's when I shaved the rest off. :)

I'm thrilled for you! Embrace it and know you are beautiful bald! After 20 something years with aa, I feel like this is the way I was meant to be- if I can't have a full head of hair of course! I just shaved a few months ago and I'm looking forward to getting my very first wig. How nice that your boyfriend helped you. My bf is so supportive and my baldness doesn't phase him at all...and he has dreadlocks down to his bum! Congrats!

Yay! I also found it very hard to watch the hair fall out. At least that obsession is gone. I wish you all the best.

thanks for all the kind words folks :) The obsession is definitely gone, no longer looking wistfully that clumps of hair that just fall right out...everywhere! not to mention, less vacuuming hehehe
