I order my hair systems from Hair Direct, and get a new system every 3-months. I get my hair cut and serviced at a salon. They want to raise the price to almost $400 a cut because I don't buy my hair from them. This seems really excessive and I'm currently unemployed and my parents are freaking out that they can't keep supporting me and my hair while I look for a job. HD does cut-ins but I just don't know how they could cut it in right without it being on my head. Does anyone know of any good hair system, wig cutting places on Long Island that don't cost a small fortune? Is it true that regular salons can't cut human hair wigs? I have been crying all night. The job market is terrible and alopecia is expensive!!

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about your troubles with the salon.  There has to be another establishment that will help you for a lot less.  Aimee had some great ideas.  If your town has a wig bank I would call them and ask for a stylist recommendation.

I have been on the unemployed side of house too.  You must remain positive and find ways to stay busy.  I suggest going and volunteering somewhere when you are not on the hunt.

Helping others always makes me feel better.

Stay strong!

Hate to hear about cost, this is partially why I started my company for my aunt because she experienced hair loss and was having trouble finding quality wigs and someone for upkeep of the wig. She consequently learned how to cut and style her own but does go to her hair stylist too. I initially was selling hair extensions, but saw how difficult it was for my aunt so a friend and I started creating the wigs and it was hit!!we also sold hair to those who just wanted hair for this wigs, constructed by someone else as we don't mind :) Just so you know we construct custom wigs for the "low-low" lol. We use 100%virgin high grade unprocessed hair, which is comparable quality hair to that of follea and freedom wigs hair. Although we don't style, we'd love to help you in anyway we can www.crownlifeonline.com
