Face control

So I almost got denied entrance to a club in Russia the other day because of a thing called face control. I've got 3 girls with me, diamonds on my wrist, dressed to the T with a US passport. The bouncer takes one look at me and says sorry buddy I can't let you in because of FACE CONTROL. After he realized the girls weren't coming in without me, and a harsh look from my girlfriend to some other people sitting there, probably the admins. They waved me into the club. What a putz, the bouncer was. He said it's not how you are dressed, but the way you look. Anyway this brought me down a little bit and I had to vent. Thanks for reading.

Back in the day, I saw bouncers do this all the time - pretty, thin, girls got in while average girls did not. Same with the guys, buff and handsome, right in, average looking - wait and see if there were not enough of the pretty and handsome to fill up the club.

It sucks, but you can't tell the owners how to run their clubs - BUT YOU CAN VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLARS AND NOT GO THERE AND SPEND YOUR MONEY!!!!!

Alex, I checked out your pictures, and you are seriously hot, and you were there with THREE girls. That bouncer must have been jealous! Not that that's the point, what he said was just stupid and mean. But, don't feel bad. Trust me you have a cute face and a sexy body. Right ladies!

Hi Alex,

Face control is a generic (slang) term used by bouncers to grant privileges (or not) to various people in line for a club. It's the slang name of the selection criteria used by bouncers to choose who gets entry and who doesn't based on their looks. If a bouncer likes your look, he lets you in. If not, well, you know the rest. And yes, it's good to be with a group of people because they will generally let everyone in the group in even if one person in the group may not pass 'face control'. Generally, club owners prefer 'beautiful people' in their clubs (buff guys, shapely girls, pretty faces).

Don't take 'face control' personally. Every bouncer is different and will choose differently based on their own personal tastes. And yes, nearly every bouncer is a putz in this regard. These silly games are one of many reasons I don't generally go clubbing. That, and I'm not much into alcohol consumption.

What matters in life is how you feel about yourself and that others care about and respect you. Don't let some random bouncer get you down over his 10 second assessment of your looks.
