First support group

Went to my first support group today! I drove out to Chino and heard Dr. Richard Strick, who was fantastic. This was only my third day out of the house since shaving my head. Yesterday I ran into an acquaintance who told me that I looked younger! LOL That didn't bother me a bit!

Thanks to Patricia for doing such a great job today.

Ironically, I stopped to get take-out from a favorite restaurant tonite where I was sure the manager was an Alopecian. I had not seen him since my hair on my head started falling out two weeks ago (seems like forever, now). Sure enough, he does have AU and many years ago went to Dr. Strick. He was very gracious in chatting with me for a couple of minutes.

It's been a roller coaster, but I'm becoming more and more at ease. I'm grateful to all the folks who have told their stories here--it has been my lifeline as my AA has accelerated so dramatically.

Very true, I think of the battle sometimes is just understanding what has happened.

He's a well-known expert and extremely knowledgeable about AA. I'm not getting any treatment--couldn't possibly afford it. I was just glad to learn so much about it.

why is Dr. Strick fantastic? what kind of treatment did you get?
