So as some of you may know Mikey started his hair loss journey on oct 16th 2009. By feb 10 he had lost most of it by mid april '10 he had lost all of his long beautiful hair with the exception of his giraffe patch which he still has. Some of you may recall we only did topical steroid ointment for no more than 2 months then decided to let alopecia runs its course. now all of a sudden beginning in mid june he started to grow hair. It isnt alot but hell its growing!! yes its patchy and some is white and some is black! LOL! and yes weve been getting stares again. And i dont care one bit. Cause my sugar is getting hair! he didnt lose his eyebrows or lashes and im hoping he still doesnt! but if he does oh well we'll deal with that when the time comes. Right now we're grateful we have some progress ocurring and to think we did little or nothing at all. And dont regret our decision to let it runs its course. It may reoccur again and we'll deal with it when that time comes again!
I hope this gives other parents some hope after reading so much about what others who do all they can to make this happen at any expense and sometimes dont get any results. either way we all know we dont know what will happen to ourselves or our beautiful children with alopecia. We can only be happy and thankful that our children are dealing with something that isnt life threatening.
SUPER DUPER HAPPY!!!!!

so far so good. we just expected it to be all white since thats how it started but its also growing in color. so we can only remain hopeful that his hair continues to grow. did ur dtr also lose eyebrows and lashes? mikey still hasnt. just wondering if the kids who do lose it all have repeat episodes. given that we're 9 months into this and it hasant happened yet.
