Help for FFA - Does a change in diet help?

In February I was diagnosed with FFA however I noticed my hair falling out in great numbers last summer. In early January before I was officially diagnosed I began an experiment with diet. I tried an elimination diet for about six weeks and around the third week I noticed my hair loss decreased dramatically. I have done some online research about this and found out that gluten may be the culprit to my autoimmune disorder likely triggered by stress (since I've gone back to school at the age of 52). I went off the diet slightly for about two weeks in late March eating a lot of bread during that time. Wow, the hair loss returned as before. I'm trying to alter my diet and eliminate gluten altogether. The hair is still falling out however the numbers have dropped alot since this new diet.

I'm also on medication Ratio Clobetasol and Novo-Doxylin which I don't feel is helping at all.

What has been your experience? Has anyone tried a new diet? Any help is appreciated.

I have not tried a specific diet except to increase my fruits and veggies and try to cut down on sugar.  Unfortunately I have pretty much stopped going to the gym because I am embarrassed by my appearance and have not figured out how not to look like a cancer patient with a stupid headwrap.  But I do walk a lot, wearing my baseball cap of course, and try to keep healthy.  I do need to lose some weight for summer which is why I went to more veggies and less starch and sugar.  I have also read this is good for inflammation which might be part of the FFA problem.
