How do you control shifting/moving? Make the wig more secure?

I got my first wig in February and I am still getting used to it in some ways, but have a question. Throughout the day my wig shifts back and I find myself pulling it down in front. I bought a gel headband, but that doesn't seem to stay in place(I think that is more for when I don't have any hair on my head). I don't know if it just means that I need to trim my hair more, or what I should do.

Anyone have any pointers on what I can do? Anything to make it stay in place better? I can't really use clips because I don't have enough hair to clip it to.

Help?

Tighten the elastic.

I have done that a few times, I guess I will just keep tightening it. It wasn't too bad yesterday, we will see.

Hi Julie
I have this same problem (or use to). I have Chronic TE that i think has shifted to AGA so i still have hair and I found a good solution. I like to wear my own hair longer than my wig even so i have some volume for caps at home..so that means I have to corral the hair when its wig time. I buy a liner that is light and airy and has a band around the edge that grips the cap. It helps me keep my hair from slipping and also the grip thing helps a TON for shifting. I bought these at a place 6 hrs away but they do have a webpage ..its www.hairess.com (no L) and their phone number is 219-622-1060. The item number is 1202. I think they are different colors..mine are nude. Thye cost $4 a piece and I have two that are older than a year so they are cheap..it also keeps the oil from your head from damaging your wig. If you have any questions..Im here. hope you can get that wig secured..it looks beautiful on you!!!
