Well I developed alopecia Areata a few months ago. Since then I have gone gluten-free and I see hair growth. It's slow...but it's growing. Anyway, I have invested in some excellent hair extensions (luxy hair extensions) and they match exactly with my hair color and my hair texture. I have also invested in a product called Toppik. It is AMAZING. I kid you not. You just sprinkle it on your hair and it releases like these little fibers and you can't tell that you have a bald spot even if you are in the sun. I would know since I have a huge bald spot at the left side of my head(near the hair line) and I also a bald spot at the middle of my hair line. It's pretty terrible but oh well. I've laid my problems to the lord through prayer and have made an effort to solidify my faith. I know that it is only a matter of 'when' til' God decides to heal me. My hair loss is extensive. But God has given me ways of dealing with it. There are times that I am lacking in faith, but I have only to ask God to strengthen my faith in him. Because even though science can fail us (as it has failed me) God NEVER fails. God Bless you all.
