Hello everyone,
March 2016: I got AA 9 years back. It slowly developed into AU. I tried many doctors, many treatments and nothing worked. I started accepting my condition after joining this group and learned to live with it, which is a good thing. At the same time, I was starting to give up hope.
Two years back, I thought I'll try my last shot with Dr.Richard Strick. At first I was skeptical with the treatment. I have tried a similar one where the cream irritates the scalp and triggers hair growth. I tried it anyway. After 6 months of patience, I saw my hair back. Still I was pretty confident it will fall off (remember I have gone through the same cycle for 7 years already!). Here's the awesome twist - this time my hair stayed!!!
I cannot try to explain my joy! Everyone please try the treatment, even if you don't think it will work for you. "Remember hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies."
Additional Info:
Dr.Richard Strick retired and Dr.Madkan has taken over. Don't worry, she prescribes the same DNCB treatment.

I will happy to help with any more questions you have :)
December 2017: I wanted to update you guys that I'm still enjoying my full head. I get like 2 small patches every month but I immediately apply the medicine and new hair starts growing in a week.
Fingers x'd for you!!!
Surya,
My son was referred to Dr Madkan by our local dermatologist (we live about 2 hours from LA), who has been treating my son unsuccessfully for about a year with steroid injections. The DNCB treatments started in December and Dr Madkan believes he's responding on the quick side, with a lot of growth of white hairs. Your post is giving us a lot of hope!!!
Congratulations! there is a carrot at the end of the brass ring :) Just make sure that you don't make any rash moves and loose the hair again. Check with your doc if you have any changes, infections, changes in blood pressure and I would even make sure if you move between climates that you know if you are prone to environmental allergies. I have many allergies all my life and dermatitis too coupled with a tendency to male pattern baldness I lost my hair at an early age, grew it back due to treatment from an excellent dermatologist and then lost it to home beauty treatments. If I had to do it all over again I would follow doctor advise and treat each hair follicle like gold! good luck and enjoy your locks :) Sharon
Could you give the name of the cream prescribed please?
The cream is called DNCB. It basically irritates your skin and causes rashes which reacts with the white blood cells and triggers the hair follicles. It was not covered by my insurance. the cream itself costs about $35 only and the quantity is good enough for you to see the hair growth by the end of one bottle. The doctor visit costed $200 per visit. You have to go once a month initially and there is no need to follow up.
Thanks a lot, it would be great if you could attach a picture of this cream. I mean a pic of the container that it comes in or the carton/box etc. Thanks again for sharing.
