“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”- Ted Geisel (Dr. Seuss)

I love this quote, I feel that it really speaks to those of us with alopecia.
I still find myself hoping for a cure even after all these years, but I am happy knowing that I can help other alopecians with support and comfort.
Stay brave and remember you are beautiful regardless what is on or not on your head.

There may not be a cure, but there are options such as vacuum wigs and bonded-on hair systems that stay on all the time (which helped me feel pretty again.) Do your research, save your money and treat yourself to some "alterna-hair" that makes you feel fabulous.

This is why I go to two wig shops, try on everything I can, look in the mirror and see how all views look (and how the wig looks with my glasses on), and then buy a low-cost, synthetic KNOCK OUT wig that makes me feel pretty for the next year. I get 10% discount with the alopecia. Go for the prettiest you...get a make-over for free at the cosmetic counter of a major department store or cosmetic store. If your hair looks even better than the gals around you, and even guys and teachers made positive comments, you can get a lot of smiles while waiting for that cure.

Brandi, I have only been dealing with this since July but I do know that you are Beautiful. There are days that I am angry becasue I have AA. But those are the days I get on here and listen to everyone and helps. Hang in there.

the funniest thing for me is that since I've been bald...and wearing wigs to work (only cause I deal with the public in a pharmacy) I have gone frosted blond, brown and recently red...I get all these questions about my hair dresser...LOL...cracks me up...I tell them all oh I do my own hair...takes no time at all...they just say wow..you should be in the business....and I smile and thank them....tooo funny!!! I then go to the gym nexytdoor in a bandanna and run into the same folks and they just stare...like what the heck???

I really try to remember is is not the shell that makes the person..it is the heart and soul..the kind of person that you are not what you look like....
