I wrote this when I was in a dark place and it helped me a lot, hopefully it might help someone here too x

I used to know a little girl
Folks always used to stare
They wondered bout the little girl
The one who had no hair

She tried so hard to fit right in
Like them she tried to be
Kids laughed and joked and taunted
But her hurt they could not see

She never let her feelings show
She kept them locked away
This carried on into her teens
Then hair returned to stay

The next few years were heaven sent
Life back as it should be
Then this young girl became a wife
And raised a family

Moving on to present times
The “A” word has returned
I draw my strength from that young girl
And all the things she learned

She gives me strength to face the days
When I’m feeling low
I only have to think of her
And deep inside I glow

I’m getting through this troubled time
Coping without hair
With that young girl here by my side
When people stop and stare

I had a small cry for that little girl...I'm so grateful I didn't go through that as a child as you did. Thanks for those very emotional words as I had a huge dose of gratitude flood through me.
