Hey Everyone!

So just a brief history.

I've had AU since June 2014. It started of as AA to AT to AU. All my hair fell off, from everywhere, including eyelashes and eyebrows. I've tried all forms of treatment, be it steroid tablets, injections, mynoxidal solutions, UV therapy, you name it. None of them worked. My eyebrows and eyelashes did grow back. In 2016, my hair grew back for around a month and then it fell again.

After that, I sort of gave up and went off all medication against my parents and doctors wishes. I just wanted to accept it. I believe that kind of helped. Hair grew in patches, some were white and some black. Just a fuzz here and there. But all in all, pretty stand still.

Then my doctor suggested JAK inhibitors. Hahaha, it was sort of a Hail Mary for my parents when I agreed to try it.

So without any further ado,

I started taking Xeljanz (tofacitinib tablets) JAK inhibitor tablets on December 24th. I took one tablet that is 5mg every day for two months. During this time, I noticed that whatever little hair I had, had stopped falling. In March, my doctor increased the dose to two tablets that is 10 mg everyday. I had my blood tested before starting two tablets. Everything was normal. I believe that there is some hair growth on my leg too! Never knew I would get this excited about leg hair (I'm a woman, btw).

I will keep updating for as long as I take the medicine. I am trying this on my own, not through an university trial so it is costing us a lot. The tablets do not come cheap.

My question for my alopecian-beautiful-coming-to-terms-with-our-'condition'-friends,

1. Is anyone else trying this?

2. I've heard that once you stop the medicine, the hair falls out. Has this happened to everyone who has tried this? Anyone knows?

3. Unrelated but, anyone know how to print matting of human hair wigs? Mine get really tangled up no matter how much serum I use or wash it the 'right way'.

Cheers!
