I just been thinking a few things I thought I would share here.
I got all excited over a mini pampering day. But I'm very worried over something which is supposed to be fun. For a long time I haven't felt very girly. I've sort of forgotten who I am. A bit stuck in a rut. I'm sure allopecia has it's part to play in the girly side of things. Although I do still love my wig even if at times it irritates me and I can't wait to get it off.
Anyhow back to pampering, I've never had a fake tan or my nails done or anything like it (feet toes face etc) today I'm getting a fake tan and nails. A few thoughts came to mind 1) what do I wear, they say something dark and baggy. But my baggy jeans are sort of tight at the top, so maybe a loose dress but it's chucking down with rain. Is the said rain going to ruin my legs if get them wet???? :( I have a wedding to go to tomorrow I'm wearing a dress the whole point of the tan is not having milk bottle legs. I also don't want chocolate milkshake legs either.
Also, as fake tan can stain man made fabric should I take off my wig in fear she will tan that too? This would be a rather strange experience possibly for her too. It makes me think, would I need to ask if she would mind if I took it off....
Also my nails, they are so ridgy (thanks again alopecia) I love painting my nails despite the ridges I'm sure they are not the most healthiest of nails but I guess I like the control and experimenting that nails can give. My only issue with this lady today is it feelss like she will be 'safe' I don't want safe. Oh well we shall see what happens. And hope the sun comes out. ;)

I have had the fake tan and when I did I wore a very losse black dress or sweat pants and loose top. If the rain hits your tan it will spot the part that has the immediate color and it may make the part that develops spot some too. You will want to shower the morning after and FYI you will probably smell a little 'chemically' until you do so. Also they can adjust the color so you may want to go for a lighter color if you are naturally pale to avoid the orange look. They should give you a bonnet like a shower cap because the hair has to be off your face and neck so you will look even. Good luck and have fun : )

I've never had a tan applied but I would think it would be better to take the wig off...I wanted to have acrylic nails applied a few years ago but the technician talked me out of it because of my weak ridged nails...sigh...Maybe you'll have better luck, keep us posted and all the best for tomorrow.

Well I've had tan done, woke early this morning not had chance to shower just yet to see full effect I just hope was worth the money. I do have that sort of biscuit smell people mention.
The gel polish on my nails I pointed out my ridges but they didn't think be a problem. They do look fab and so smooth. It was only after when I felt conned and she told me I'd have to go back in two to three weeks to have the gel removed at my cost! No one told me that before I had them done. But after looking into it on google, they just soak them in acetone which I'm not too happy about as that stuff can damage the healthiest of nails... :/ but I think as a one off treat I'm happy and would have them again (so far) for other soecial occasions.

You can soak them off your self with nail polish remover that has acetone - I had them done YEARS ago for my college grad and HATED them so I removed them myself the morning of my grad.
