I've had alopecia for about 5 months now, not even sure exactly what kind yet ( i'm seeing a rheumatologist soon).
I lost about 40% of my hair, but the last month or so most of it started growing back, i couldn't help but get excited. I had little fuzz covering nearly all my head again. Well the past few days i started noticing smooth spots on my regrowth.
How can i keep from getting too excited when i see regrowth? I don't want to get my hopes crushed, but i also don't want to completely give up on trying. I can't seem to find a happy medium. Any suggestions?
If it helps any whenever I get a 'first' regrowth it normally goes but is then replaced (quickly) but a 'real' regrowth. Seems to me it's like 'baby hair' like when your born the first lot of a babies hair (fuzzy hair)will normally fall out then real hair grows.
Always hope for the best and be as positive as you can be, would be my advice xxx
Hi Rosy,
I admire your gentle common sense.
May I quote this passage
"My view is that alopecia areata is a condition that you are unable to control or track...it does what it does when it wants to...nobody can tell you why, the control factor for those dealing with this condition is around how they deal with the results - hairloss" with the attribution "Rose Marie on Alopecia World" ....on the Facebook page Alopecia Areata Support Association?
