HELP...I noticed my 8 year olds hair thinning about 8 months ago. I took her to the dermatologist. She ran some tests-thyroid- and it all came back normal. Two weeks ago, I noticed significant hair loss again. She has very little hair on the top of her scalp, her eyebrows have thinned out, and the hairs on her leg has disappeared. I have noticed she has short thin hair-white in color- growing. On her scalp, it looks like fuzz-spring like- very little waves and has no color. On her arms and legs, she has short hair with almost no color. We ran blood tests again and so far everything is normal.. don’t know about hormones het. We did a scalp biopsy and are waiting for the result. Last point, at the age of 3 months, she had an ovarian cyst removed. Her ovary had turned into a cyst so it had to be removed. Could there possibly be a connection between her one ovary and what is going on?
