My alopecia story in pictures (Part 2)

So here is the rest of my story

The last picture in Part 1 of this story was October 2011. I had MUCH thinner hair but people still didn't really notice unless I moved my upper layers of hair showed them my bald patches. I still had all of my facial hair. As a woman I never thought I would be happy about that! Haha - now that I have none I would be so happy just to get back there!

November 2011 - this is the month I decided to look into a wig until I got it I decided I better start to get used to a scarf.

I sent this picture to my fashionista friend to see what she thought - does it scream cancer patient. She said it kind of did but that it was pretty. Gotta love the honesty :)

I did not love my 1st wig purchasing experience. There was 1 lady in town who dealt with wigs. I was expecting help. Try on different things, explain the pros and cons, etc. She showed me cap construction and catalogs. She was able to help me pic a color. She charged me about $150 for her "service". That's how much more I paid her for the wig than I would have paid on-line. I wore it for the 1st time December 7. 2011. Realized after a day it wasn't what I ordered!!!! I called her. She said the one I wanted was back ordered so she just ordered the closest thing to it. I asked to exchange it. She said no. I bawled - I was out over $400! It had an itchy lace front and was an overwhelming amount of hair. I ended up cutting it at least 3 times.

December 2011-January 2012

Straight out of the box

After a couple of modifications

What was underneath the wig

February 2012
I had a cruise planned for March and at this point was having to completely pencil in 1 eyebrow. I knew this was not going to work when I snorkeled then went sight seeing. I started looking into permanent makeup for eyebrows. I also decided to shave what was left of my hair since I knew I couldn't wear my wig snorkeling and bald was going to be better than looking like the Crypt Keeper. My Gramma shaved what was left and we both agreed it was better!

OK - on to Part 3! I am sure there is a way to make these picture files smaller but I have no idea how so .....
