My first post
I started a discussion...and it started me thinking.
I am continually amazed by this site, which, after posing a heated discussion not 24 hours ago, has already filled 5 internet pages with encouragement, stories, and advice on my issue of HIDING under a hat and how to be free. I have struggled my whole life to find commonality with women (and man) in this; my friends all understand, but from an outsiders view, but they still lovingly style their hair each morning, and complain of having to style it. (if only...). I have found new sisters and brothers on here...I really am quite humbled by the commonality I have with so many people, that I have never felt before. I know I'm not alone, though surrounded by hairy people does make me feel like a bit of an outsider emotionally. I can talk about it all I want, but not one really "Gets it". So thank you Alopecia world folk, for making me feel not so alone.

I totally feel you..I ve been dealing with hair loss and stares for a very long time now..I come from a country where people stare and point and mock you as if hair loss was something you asked for.Even a few members of my family used to mock me and call me names like bald head.Anyway 13 yrs later I found "closure"..The trick is to accept and let go.I dont care anymore.Alopecia world has helped me a lot.I never knew before that there were so many people suffering from this condition.I used to feel all alone.But the amazing stories of the brave people here made me accept my condition and my attitude changed overnight.
Just remember you dint ask for it.You are one of the unlucky few who are stuck with it.So if you have to wear a wig or a beanie wear it confidently and happily.Just think of it as another accessory.And besides we do have a lot more choice of hair styles..lol..And when you want to go natural just remember that you are a beautiful person and if the world cant see that , then screw them..!!
