My name is John and I've had AA for almost 2 years now. I lost 75% of the hair on my head, all my eyebrows, facial hair, eyelashes and even my nose hair (I really didn't complain about that). I took the injections in the effected areas and applied the foam and creams my dermatologist had suggested but nothing worked...not even a little bit. I stopped doing anything about it for about 8 months assuming that nothing was going to work. After all my eyelashes fell out I decided to see another dermatologist. She gave me a heavy prescription of Prednisone. I took 60mg for 7 days, 40mg for 7 days and 20mg for 14 days. Along with taking Prednisone, I took a vitamin called B Supreme. It's a heavy dosage of vitamin B. I also changed my diet eating certain foods that help promote hair growth. I drank alot of water and prayed alot. After just 1 month, 90% of my hair on my head has grown back, all the hair in my mustache area has grown back and patches on my beard, eyebrows and eyelashes are starting to grow back. I went back to my dermatologist to show her the results and she was amazed. She gave me another prescription for Prednisone but in smaller dosages. Some people call Prednisone the "miracle drug" but it does have side effects and long term health problems but at his point, I don't care. I am now on week 6 with this new "program". I realize that all my hair can fall back out at anypoint, and I also realize that this might just be the cycle of Alopecia and it is all just a coincidence...but at least this gives me hope. Alopecia has really effected my life and nothing is worst than having some rere condition that has no cure, little explanation, and is visible for everyone to see. I''ve only had this condition for 2 years and I can't imagine the ones who have it their whole lives. It is truely a test to someones character. I hope this doen't give anyone false hope. Coming from a man with little hope at the time...this has really turned out great...so far. We'll have to see if it works long term. I hope this works for other people with AA and they can experience the joy I am.

John,
I am soooo happy for you and pray that you continue to see growth and that it stays with you. Can you share more info about the B Supreme vitamin?

Hey John, I'm new to this site & just read your blog. Do you still have hair? 2009 was a long time ago! I live in Austin too... can you tell me who your dermatologist was? I've had AU for so long I doubt it would do me any good, but hey, it never hurts to check things out! Thanks...
