Hello fellow alopecia friends!

Let me start with the history of my treatment. At age 11 I was diagnosed with alopecia areata. they started me out on tropical creams and foams, after a year and half of that I moved up to injection. I went every 6 weeks for a few years until 2006 when I accepted the fact I was never going to have a full head of hair again. Before I stopped the injections I was wearing a wig. I embraced my baldness and defended my right to still be pretty! I had alot of growth until 2009, that’s when I started the injections again for less than year. Until recently I experienced alot of hair loss. I moved across country to the west coast and lost about 80% of my hair. I found a dermatologist out here within 2 visits almost all my hair was back. This came as a total shock, I've never had so much hair come back with such little time. After my 2nd visit I found out they did not accept my insurance, finally got California insurance a few weeks ago.

So, I had a doctors visit today to  have injections preformed. I've lost about a 1/3rd of my hair  on the side that was the good side. May doctor recommended that I try Narrow Band UVB. Its a treatment that requires me to go every other day for 6 weeks, and hope it helps. Its a less harsh way to stimulate the hair follicles. I'm unsure about this, its alot of money to go every other day plus alot of time to take off of work. So before  I say no, I want to know  if anyone has tried this or knows of someone who has. Any input would be great on helping me to decide what route to take. I did find an article stating that only 20% of patient with alopecia experienced hair growth. A penny for your thought?
