Hi, all new to me this alopecia lark. Went on my hols 2weeks ago with a ful head of hair apart from one smal bald spot at back, come back with less than 20% of my hair.I can cover this up but my nails OMG hideous is the only word. Any advice will wearing false nail damage them more do docs frown upon the use of them or is it just a personel choice.
Sportsguy, the cream that the dermatologist gave me is Clobetasol 0.05%. I was told to apply to skin of fingers just above the nails once at night because the cream would not do any good on the nails itself...well its not doing any good @ all. Nails looks like they have aged over a short period of time....really hates the way they look.
If you find a solution please let us know.
Greetings friends, I had alopecial in my 30's after childbirth, now my 29 year old son has it, not a hair on his body. His nails are a wreck too. He has been taking biotin also, no luck. It seems there is nothing that works. My hair eventually grew back. He was bald for 5 years and the in 2 weeks all the rest fell out everywhere. Don't waste money going to dr.s. cath
Is this nail problems part of Alopecia or something else? I have tried the Biotin....not working, went to derm..got cream not working ...What is it? According to the Dermatologist...Nail Psoriasis.
I'm taking 2500 mcg currently. I used to take 5000 but I couldn't find it at the drugstore.
I suppose men can wear acrylic nails...why not?
Men wear acrylic nails?
i was taking 4,000. now up to 5,000 mcg.
Try going to a salon and getting acrylic nails. I have one awful nail and I wear a false one over just that one.
