Hey everyone! I've had alopecia for about 10 years and have tried every thing... literally everything. I've done laser, creams, injections, shampoos, but nothing really seemed to help me. My hair fell out almost like the seasons my dad always says. The spring and summer my hair always grew in and in the winter and fall alot of my hair fell out. So, I've been using squaric acid. The acid isn't FDA approved yet, but me and my dermotolgist said its worth a shot. So between 4-5 months mostly all of my hair came back completely. My hair was all back in the summer of last year. The acid is almost like a poison ivy reaction, it basically lies to the white blood cells and gets them to move away from the hair follicule and lets the hair grow. I had alopecia areata to begin with i wasnt completely bald. I was still able to cover my hair before the acid. My hair then began to fall out agian after the summer so im on the acid agian and my hair is growing back. I really recommened this treatment if you havent tried it. If you have any questions ... let me know! :)

Hi there. I have AU....I have been getting the DCPC treatment here in Toronto Canada. I started losing my hair 2 years ago (now I have no hair on my body)....I tried Steroid creams...Rogaine...nothing worked. I started DCPC this past January. As stated this is a non intrusive treatment..like painting on water..it tricks your immune system in attacking the poison rather then the hair follicles. I go once a week. I do have some peach fuzz so I will wait and see.

This treatment is only available in some hospitals. Sunnybrook Health Sciences in Toronto is the only hospital that does this treatment. For those living in the states you many want to contact Sunnybrook for resources in the US.

When I went to the dermatologist, the squaric acid was available and offered. You should be able to get it. If you call a dermatagologist they might tell you where you can go to get it.

Hi Sara
I've got the same type of Alopecia as you, my hair falls out in the Autumn and winter months and I have some regrow in the summer months, had it for, nearly 7 years now, but haven't seen much regrowth since last year, husband thinks we should move to a hot country, I've given up on all treatments. Wonder if this Squaric acid would be available in Uk?

Hi everyone well it's been 2 months now since I shaved my head and 99.9% of my hair is growing back of course I still look for any treatments to make it grow faster and healthier. So I have been given a new product called Activance with Rhodanide it's a hair stimulant it's pricey at $55.00 for 200mls but I have been googling about this product and it has some good reports. Has anyone else heard of or tried this product. I would like to know.

Hi Sara,
I will ask my doctor, not sure I'd they'll give it me though? It would be great if you could find out from your pharmacy and let me know how much it would cost to ship to the uk?
Thanks

I came across a treatment called PRO-ALOPECIATA ADVANCED FORMULATION from http://www.curespotbaldness.com a couple of months back. It is European based and it in two bottles of oitment - a medicated hair oill, absorption enhancing oil and cleanser. Hair at the spot have all grown and I've stopped the treatment now. Not seen any hair loss. After trying it I can safely say that it is by far a treatment that will definitely improve the condition.

The treatment does result in a heaty sensation for a short while after application and delivery took almost a month. If anyone have experience with this product please share.
