Newbie and terrified
Hello, beautiful people!
A newbie here. One month since I was told by Doc I have AA and as we speak, I have four little bald spots plus the first one which is the biggest (more than 4cm now compared to just almost 2cm the fist time i had it checked. The Mother Ship, as I'd like to call it). I am terrified that there will be more soon and I won't be able to hide them anymore. The horror! :)
I am glad to have found this site. I have been reading a lot of posts from you, guys, and learning a lot.

Girl, my heart goes out to you. I remember when I first started loosing my hair, I had to keep all my feelings in check or else I could just break down and cry any time of day. I avoided peoples eyes and mirrors too. I have had AU for 7 ish years and I am slowly becoming comfortable in my own skin. All I can really say to you that might help you along the way is to just love yourself and you will get through it.

Thanks, Felicia. I really am trying to be strong and accepting of the situation. I am lucky to have super supportive friends over here in East Timor. I haven't told my family yet though. I am away from the Philippines at the moment and I am scared that the news might shock them, especially my parents. I just think hearing stuff like this over the phone is the worst, so I plan on telling them about it when I go home in June, when I can explain everything to them face to face, and assure them that I am well and not sick, just losing hair. :-)
I wish to be as strong as you are and the other people on here.
