In my case the hair that is growing is white and no itching.

My hair is coming in darker than it was when I last say it about 16 years ago but it's also normal for your hair to get darker as an adult than when you were a teen. For the longest time it was just colourless fuzz and eventually it turned into this wonderfully splotchy pattern and kept getting bigger. From what I understand though it will never come back completely, I've been AU too long. I keep shaving my head anyways so I don't know if it's just from those short hairs or whatnot but my head does get itchy - creepy crawlies. LOL

When my hair first started growing back it came in much darker than my natural color. Like Carol said, I think that was just because I was older than when I first lost it. Now that dark hair has fallen out once again and I have a head full of white fuzzy hair that doesn't grow.

I thought I read something about if it comes in darker it doesn't tend to stay too long and if it comes in white you might have a chance of it hanging around awhile. Do you all know or have heard anything about this?

My patches tend to grow in whitish or really light blond (my hair is naturally dark) I got impatient once and tried to dye the whole thing so you couldn't see the whitish bits but alas it wouldn't take. However after waiting a bit it did darken up as it got thicker, I think you just have to be patient
