Shaved my head!
So I was going to wait until saturday, but last night I was in the bathroom brushing my hair and a HUGE glob fell out. I just couldnt deal with it anymore. So I grabbed the clippers, and now Im bald!! My mom came and helped me with it, to make sure I didnt miss anything. When it was all gone, I couldnt help but smile! I havent cried once and I dont think I will. Im more than OK with the fact that Im bald! Jeremy (my boyfriend) shaved his head last night too, so I cant wait till he gets here tonight and I get to see it! So, all in all, Im happy I did it!!

Hi Tamara, I am new to AW. I just read your post...I shaved Sunday. I was so tired of trying to do anything with what little I had left. I am glad to hear I am not the only one who has done this! Hoping for better days!!! Christy

Congratulations ladies! There's a group here - the Sisterhood of women who shave their head! I shaved about a month or so ago, and I'll tell you, there's nothing like not having to worry about more hair falling out. I never thought I'd respond to shaving my head with a big, doofy grin, but that's what I did. Love yourselves!

Hi Amy, I like & agree with your reply. I sure had mixed emotions before, during and after. On the positive side I am so glad that the bathroom is "almost" hair free, we have a Sheltie and a Kitty...lol

I just cleaned my bathroom and my room and found SO much hair!! Im so glad to have gotten it all off the floor, FRESH START!! :)

Good for you! Join the group that Amy mentioned. You can see pics of my hair the night before I shaved on my page...I can't believe I hung onto the patches of hair as long as I did. Are you going to shave it smooth? I felt so much better not having to pick up hair off the floor or watch the bald areas expand. I felt in control. Way to go.

Mary - Yes I ended up shaving it completely smooth, it feels MUCH better and looks a lot better too. I even went out the next day and all weekend without a scarve on. I felt OK with it and so much more comfortable than with a scarf. The only problem now is my face is tan with freckles, and my head is SO white!
