alright ladies and gents... I've been dealing with this for 15 years. I'm a survivor. Don't have any hair, but don't need it! let's fill my page with positivity. Let's get some stories on here about loving yourself and surviving! It doesn't matter if you're bald, not, or in between. I want to hear all about loving your self!
Hello, I have been dealing with this for the past 20 years. 12 years ago I shave what was left of my hair. Today I can say that was the first day of my new life. Funny how something I thought was negative change my life for the best. From introverted I became extroverted, I didn't want to look like a victim, so I decide to act as if didn't matter that I was bald. After few months, I realized that I did not care anymore.
I never worn a wig, it was not me. When I went looking for a job, I told them that I was not sick and that if they didn't like my look, it was too bad, I wouldn't change. I got the job, they told me that they like my attitude and confidence. Today I'm teaching Pension plan and Group Insurance in a call center.
I have friends and a family who love me the way I am. One important thing that they made me realized after all these years is that I am much more than hair. I am a whole person and every morning when I looked in the mirror, I'm proud of what I am.
It's much easier to accept that to fight against that desease. I channeled my energy into acceptance instead of fighting.
Be happy and people will love you the way you are. :-)
