So this weekend I was at a patio reception for my friends wedding. There was a tent which helped with the sun, but there was no breeze in the tent and it was HOT. I was so embarrassed because I just had sweat running down my face. I knew that it would be different with wearing a wig and that my head would get hot, but it really sucked having the sweat running down my face. Plus the adhesive that I use doesn't last when you sweat..darn it! I had to actually go sit in my car with the a/c on to cool off and I put some napkins under my wig near my temples to catch the sweat. It seemed to help just in time to go on the bar crawl on a trolley which definitely helped with the breeze.

Anyone have any pointers for dealing with sweat? My head is the first place I sweat and it sucks with wearing the wig.

I wear synthetic wigs with no adhesive, and I go somewhere private to air out both head and wig at times during a hot day. Most of my activities are in air conditioned rooms or vehicles.

I have the same problem and had that issue the other day. The only thing I can think of is taking it off and airing your scalp out. sorry i wish i had another solution

I went to the restroom a few times and aired it out. I think I would have had the problem with my shorter wig too. I have seen the sweat pads for under the wigs, but I don't think they cover by the temples which was where I needed it I think.

How about wearing a sweatband around your head (on top of your wig)?

Hey Julie,

I have heard good things about the sweat liners called "headline it" which go under your wig - I know vogue wigs website sells them ... I"m sure others do to. I believe they come in a pack and are disposable. I don't have any personal experience with them but recall seeing them on TV - they looked easy to use too! :)

I don't wear a wig, but I do know what it's like to sweat profusely in public. I am a good sweater, and I live in San Antonio where it is blazing hot all of the time. A few years ago my husband and I ran into a dude downtown with a towel in his belt loop. We saw hip pull it out to wipe his face from time to time, and my husband made eye contact and was like "genius!" The guy smiled and said "I'm a sweaty dude, and I know that, so I carry a towel." Now my husband never goes out without a bandanna in his pocket for those sweaty moments, and I have taken to putting a dainty handkerchief or bandanna in my pocket or purse, especially for fancier occasional like weddings and parties. It might not be the most glamorous to dab at my brow and neck, but it beats the beads of sweat opening running down my face. I say embrace the sweat and ebay some awesome vintage hankies to help mop it up! :)
