I made an account on here years ago and never kept up with it but I still get multiple emails every day linking me to blog posts about coping, sadness, loss of hope and other depressing topics about alopecia. I've had alopecia since I was 11 and am completely bald on my head. During the past 9 years if I've learned anything about the disease it's that it's what you make it. For all you beautiful, strong, fierce women out there- show the world those qualities! I know it's hard, but as soon as you stop dreading looking in the mirror and stop worrying about the hair loss and whether or not it's ever coming back, you'll learn to embrace it. To rock it. To own it. I'm not saying you can't morn the loss of your hair every now and again but that's just it. It's HAIR. And if it's hair loss from alopecia, we're perfectly healthy otherwise. Look on the bright side: you can chose any hairstyle/color you want. You can sleep in 30 minutes more because you don't have to wake up and do your hair. You're healthy. Heck you can paint your beautiful bald head yellow this Halloween and be the perfect minion! Bottom line, it's not all that bad. Bald is beautiful and I hope each one of you is able to be strong enough to accept that, and look so good doing it you'll make people with full heads of hair want to go bald!
